Welcome to the Generation S.O.S Young Professionals Board! Being a YPB member is a fun and fulfilling opportunity to build friendships and professional relationships while supporting an important mission. Since our founding we’ve reached over 100,000 young adults with our message of mental health wellness and substance misuse prevention and we’re thrilled to have you join our movement.
Generation S.O.S. does not ask YPB members to make personal financial contributions but we believe each member can work creatively with Generation S.O.S. to make adifference through corporate connections, live events and amplifying our presence on social media.
Corporations practice various types of philanthropy that can include matching gift programs, community and volunteer grants, and sponsorships. YPB Members can also collaborate with their employers to design their own creative ways of giving back.
YPB Members can also rally their professional communities around live and virtual events by:
Organizing a Generation S.O.S. speaking event for their co-workers or at their office locations
Organizing virtual speaking events for employees and their families or even clients
Employee led and organized community events i.e. Release Recovery Community Runs or marathon teams, bike-athons, or a water balloon fight
Outside of their professional networks, YPB Members can help organize Generation S.O.S. events in their personal communities in some of the below ways:
YPB members can approach their alma maters or their children’s schools about hosting a Generation S.O.S. event
Let’s bring Generation S.O.S. to your favorite Soul Cycle for a charity ride or hold a yoga fundraiser, or even better, a puppy yoga fundraiser!
Do you belong to an athletics club? A beach or country club? A fraternity, sorority or university club? Introduce us! Examples could include New York Athletic Club, Yale Club, or Soho House or co-working spaces like WeWork or NeueHouse.
YPB members can approach their community groups or their places of worship about hosting a Generation S.O.S. event. We also take our message to underserved communities, food pantries, and shelters. We’re also looking for those interested in supporting our new Correctional Community Initiative.

Along with the above ideas, we hope that the YPB can be a collaborative experience where members design their own unique and inspired ways of participating. We’re excited and grateful to have you on board!
A Generation S.O.S. speaker is a sober young adult who has been down the path of a mental health challenge that led to substance use/misuse and addiction and has gone through a recovery program.
Our speakers share their journey, providing coping techniques to live a healthy and emotionally balanced life.
We’re especially looking for speakers with ethnic diversity, economic diversity, and co-occurring challenges, such as vaping, online gambling, social media, and relationship addiction.
We are deeply committed to taking the hope, optimism, and peer support of Generation S.O.S. nationwide so that youth everywhere can become a part of our community.
